NO ROME
Another chance encounter. Meeting No Rome in an Uber pool in 2018 would lead to one of my closest friendships and collaborations.
The story according to Rome is that I said “Hey, Your hair is cool as fuck” to which he replied thanks, and I would subsequently come to learn why he was in the country (starting to work with label, Dirty Hit).
We promised to hang but it wouldn’t be until a year later that we would begin to hang regularly.
A large house in Hackney where Rome and His band resided became a regular hanging spot. After many nights of geeking out over Toro Y Moi & Jai Paul, games of smash bros and trips to the local carribean food store, this polaroid was taken during out first official creative collaboration. A live video for Porter Robinson’s festival Secret Sky, which ended up being simultaneously streamed in to the Metaverse viewable in VR
Rome and I would go on to collaborate numerous times and he remains a close friend to to this day.
He is also largely the reason I have a relationship with his label Dirty Hit and why I ended up working with numerous other acts of there’s such as The 1975, Rina Sawayama, Oscar lang and Beabadoobee
